Through the CE marking, the manufacturer guarantees that the product is safe to use and meets applicable requirements. The product’s effectiveness must be substantiated by data from clinical trials, clinical experience, or scientific studies.

Bauerfeind GenuTrain is a knitted support brace that relieves and stabilizes the knee joint. The ring-shaped pad around the kneecap massages as you move and, according to Bauerfeind, relieves pain.

  • Omega+ pad that surrounds and relieves the kneecap
  • Meniscus wings and Hoffa points that massage tender areas
  • Anatomically shaped, breathable Train knit
  • Extra-soft comfort zone in the hollow of the knee
  • Side splints with integrated application and removal assistance
  • 13 sizes and three colors

Relief, stability and activation of the knee joint

Bauerfeind GenuTrain is a medical support brace that relieves and stabilizes the knee joint. According to Bauerfeind, it alleviates pain and promotes mobility through alternating compression massage, activates the leg’s stabilizing muscles and helps reduce swelling.

According to the instructions for use, GenuTrain is used for conditions affecting tendons and tendon attachments, lax ligaments and meniscus problems, chronic irritation and irritation after injury or surgery, recurrent joint effusion, osteoarthritis and arthritis of the knee joint, a feeling of instability, and for preventive purposes.

How the Omega+ pad works

The Omega+ pad is ring-shaped and keeps the kneecap securely in place while reducing edema and swelling. The pad has massage points with soft silicone nodules directed at particularly tender areas:

  • Meniscus wings on the sides of the knee relieve the area around the joint space and menisci.
  • Hoffa points stimulate the fat pad beneath the kneecap with controlled pressure.

The Train knit stimulates the skin with every movement. According to Bauerfeind, this improves proprioception, activates the muscles and stabilizes the joint – allowing physiotherapy and light exercise to begin earlier.

Materials and comfort

The knit is anatomically shaped, soft and breathable, with an extra-soft comfort zone in the popliteal fossa. Two flexible plastic splints on the sides keep the support in the correct position, while the grips at the top and bottom make it easier to put on and take off. According to bauerfeind.se, the new Train knit is around 20% lighter and more breathable.

Material composition according to the manufacturer: polyamide (PA), styrene-ethylene-butylene-styrene (SEBS), thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU), elastane (EL), cotton (CO), polyurethane (PUR) and polyester (PES). Versions with a silicone edge or silicone band also contain silicone (SI).

Choose the right size

GenuTrain is available in 13 sizes: standard sizes 0–7 and comfort sizes C3–C7. According to bauerfeind.se, the comfort sizes are particularly suitable for conical leg shapes. Measure with the knee bent approximately 30 degrees – the upper circumference 14 cm above the center of the kneecap and the lower circumference 12 cm below it.

  • Size 0: upper 35–38 cm, lower 25–28 cm

Use and care

If the support has a silicone band, fold the band out first. Grip the rods of the donning aid at the top on both sides and pull the support upwards over your knee. Position the Omega+ pad so that it surrounds the kneecap without pressure. When removing the support, grip the rods at the bottom and pull downwards – do not turn the support inside out.

Wash at 30 °C with mild detergent and a laundry bag, and follow the care instructions on the sewn-in label. Regular care preserves its effectiveness.
