Night splint for the big toe
Bauerfeind ValguLoc is a medical orthosis for correcting the big toe at rest. According to the instructions for use, it is used for hallux valgus - when the big toe angles toward the little toe - both conservatively and after surgery.
According to Bauerfeind, the splint corrects the misalignment of the big toe and prevents further shortening of the capsule and ligament structures. According to the manufacturer, it relieves pain and helps prevent secondary problems such as joint wear and misalignment of the other toes.
Padded shell and adjustable force
The big toe rests in a soft padded shell that is pulled in the corrective direction with a hook-and-loop strap. The corrective force can be adjusted individually and steplessly according to needs and pain sensitivity.
Especially after surgery, Bauerfeind recommends an orthosis to prevent scar formation in the tissue and secure the correction.
Important to know
ValguLoc is a night splint and, according to the instructions for use, is not intended for walking. The splint must be correctly and individually fitted by trained professionals - only then can full functionality and optimal wearing comfort be guaranteed.
Material composition according to the manufacturer: polyamide (PA), ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA), acrylic and polyester (PES).
How to choose the size
ValguLoc is available in the color Titan, in three sizes selected according to shoe size, and in separate models for the right and left foot.

Use
Open the strap's hook-and-loop fastener and slide the plastic buckle between the big toe and second toe, so that the big toe rests in the bowl-shaped section. Thread the strap through the buckle opening, tighten it, and firmly fasten the hook-and-loop strap. The big toe should now be visibly corrected without causing pain.
Care
Close all hook-and-loop straps before cleaning and hand-wash the splint separately with mild detergent. Never expose it to direct heat, such as a radiator, sunlight, or storage in a car - the material may be damaged.
